When people think of church, they often think of stuffy ceremonies and services making prayers and singing hymns. While worship does take up a large part of the church’s activities, it is not the only thing involved. Local churches also like to try and organise events for the local community and they can be a lot of fun. Have a look at what your church is organising and you might be surprised.
Fetes and Fundraisers
Churches are well known for their fetes and fundraising events, and these can be a lot of fun for adults and children alike. Some of the larger events are likely to have some live entertainment and there may even be a beer tent or two nearby. These can be a great way to let the hair down and have some fun, while also getting to meet new people at the same time.
Lots of Kids Activities
The church is also known for putting on lots of activities for kids, and not just at fetes. Camping trips are quite common and kids of all ages are usually welcome. Their parents are also often welcome to join in, of course. It can be a great way for kids to make new friends, especially those that might have moved to a new area recently. There is also often somebody on hand to teach the kids new skills, and maybe provide some inspiration for hobbies and interests in the future.
If you are wondering what the church may have to offer in terms of fun, just ask. Somebody will be more than happy to let you know.
